About us through memories we cherish
Inspirations Gifts, Decor, and Tea Room was started in February of 2005 by Larry and Tamara Rhoads, to fulfill their desire to have a place in Edmond and Oklahoma City that could encourage faith, family, and friends. Through every step of the business, they have been overwhelmed by the blessing that has been bestowed upon Inspirations, and are grateful for God's providence each day. Inspirations strives to honor the memory of Tamara's sister, April, a very special person who loved to encourage others through her unfailing kindness and cheerfulness. April was taken to Heaven in 1995 in a tragic accident that forever changed the way the Rhoads family views life. Through the sorrow of the loss of April, the Rhoads have spent the years since enjoying every day with their family and focusing on ways to encourage others. Tamara's last time to be with April was a couple of days before the accident when Tamara hosted a tea party to celebrate Mother's Day. Tamara is now delighted that her desire to have tea room where mothers, daughters, and sisters can be encouraged has come true through Inspirations. In all of Larry and Tamara's endeavors, including family owned supermarkets in New Mexico and Texas, gift and inspirational bookstores in New Mexico, and in business consulting all over the United States, they believe they were preparing for Inspirations Tea Room and Two Hearts Inn. Inspirations is a family business, where you often see Larry and Tamara's four children, and five grandchildren helping out and being a part of the action! Their son, Rodrick, owns a thriving photography studio, Happily Everlasting, and their daughter, Christa, is an interior designer through Queen of Theme, and their two young daughters, Abbie and Allison, are a part of the special team of staff who make Inspirations succeed. We hope that Inspirations and the time you spend with us will encourage you and from our heart to yours, we wish that the road always rise to meet you, and may the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand."
